"I love inventing names, but I also collect unusual names, so that I can look through my notebook and choose one that suits a new character." ― J. K. Rowling
Why do people continue to name their babies with common names? Isn't the world feeling stultified with over-familiar names? Surprisingly not. By this we are not trying to suggest that people have no predilection for unique or uncommon names but the majority makes of those who like common names.
While there could be many reasons for people choosing usual names for their babies, many stick with the common ones so that their kids don't get teased in school because of an uncommon name. Also, at the end of the day, it is about your liking; if you think 'Kenneth' is a befitting name for your bambino, you will go ahead with it, irrespective of whether it is typical or uncommon. Just like there are common first names, there are common last names that people have been sporting for many years. Different strokes for different folks, we must say.
